Sign In with Your SC.GOV Account

Business Entities Online now uses SC.GOV — the same sign-in that works across other South Carolina government services. Your old Business Entities Online username and password no longer work here.

There are two steps, and you only do them once:

  1. Sign in to SC.GOV, or create an SC.GOV account. You will be taken to Sc.gov login screen. That is expected.
Use the email address already on your Business Entities Online account — that is what keeps your existing filings connected to your new sign-in.
  2. Verify your identity. This step is required.
The SC.GOV verification service will ask for your personal legal name, date of birth, Social Security number, and phone number or address. You may then be asked to photograph a current photo ID using your phone, so it helps to have your phone nearby. This is a normal second step, not a rejection.
You have 3 attempts to verify in any 24-hour period. Enter your details exactly as they appear on your official government issued ID like your full legal name rather than a nickname, your personal address, and your date of birth. Most checks that fail are a small mismatch like one of these. If all 3 attempts are used you will need to wait 24 hours before trying again; the limit is set by the verification service and cannot be reset for you.
